My name is "Sai" (Thai Nickname).
I was born and raised in Thailand, where food has always meant much more than simply eating. In my family, cooking was our way of showing love, and sharing a meal was how we shared happiness.
Although I have spent my career working in sales, my true passion has always been cooking. Nothing makes me happier than seeing my family and friends smile after enjoying a meal I've prepared.
In 2019, my best friend saw something in me that I couldn't yet see in myself. She kept encouraging me to start my own food business. She believed in my cooking, wanted to help me with planning and marketing, and even came up with the name "Sai Me Up."
But every time, I smiled and said, "I'm not ready."
Years passed, and life became busy. We eventually lost contact.
One day, during one of the most stressful periods of my life, I suddenly thought of her and wanted to reconnect. Before I had the chance, I learned that she had passed away.
That moment changed my life.
I realized that tomorrow is never promised, and that some dreams should not wait.
So I finally took the first step.
The sunflower has always been my favorite flower because of my father.
He taught me that even after the strongest storm, a sunflower always stands tall again and turns back to the sun.
Whenever life becomes difficult, I remember his words.
That little sunflower on my logo is a reminder to never give up, and to always rise again with hope.
Today, Sai Me Up Food Truck & Catering is more than a food business. It is a dream that was born from friendship, love, and the courage someone gave me when I couldn't believe in myself.
I believe this business is the most precious gift my dear friend, Angelina Markl, left behind for me.
Every dish I serve is made with love, gratitude, and in memory of the angel who inspired me to begin.
Last but not least, I would like to thanks my family for the unwavering love and support. They have been one of the greatest inspirations behind the journey of starting “Sai Me Up”. I am also deeply grateful to all my friends who have believed in me, encouraged me, and supported me every step of the way.
